TEA BREAK

The monthly Tea Break is a series of short, fun items in What's New Magazine that also gives jazz musicians an opportunity to update us with what they are doing.

Andy Hague(Trumpet)- October 2015

Andy Hague

Hi Andy, tea or coffee?

Tea. I’m shaking enough already.

Hob Nob, Bourbon, Garibaldi or digestive biscuit?

Hob Nob.

Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown or Jack Sheldon?

Today seems like a Clifford day.

Milk and sugar?

Milk and paracetamol.

What gigs have you played recently? Have you played at your BeBop Club in Bristol?

I played at the Shambala Festival with the Ilett / Bruce Big Band. Also with my Organ Quartet (Denny Ilett, guitar; Anders Olinder, organ; Andy Tween, drums). We also opened the Autumn Season at the Bristol Be Bop Club in September.

What have you got coming up in October?

Andy Hague’s Big 5-0 Band at Bristol Cathedral School Cresswell Theatre, 9th October. We have also got some great musicians and bands coming to the Club this autumn including Misha Mullov-Abbado who has just released his debut album and Julien Alenda with the Empyreal 4TeT.

Julien Alenda

Who else have you heard recently that we should listen out for?

Julien Alenda seems to keep getting better and better. He’s a French alto sax player who has lived in Bristol for about three years I guess, great sound.

Another biscuit?

Andy: No thanks, I’m watching my figure.
